If you wish to reserve a kid that is for sale, you must print out and sign the following agreement.
|
The policy stated below is here to protect us (the seller) and you (the buyer).
General Information:
Goats are herd animals and social creatures that require the companionship of other goats for both physical, and psychological well-being. Therefore, no goats will be sold to homes that do not currently own goats, unless more than one goat is purchased.
Please contact us if you have any questions and we will do our best to accommodate them.
Reservations/Deposit/Payment:
Note that Peaceful Views reserves the right to retain any kid that is born into our herd. Peaceful Views may terminate a reservation or sale for any reason, with full refund of deposit or purchase price.
We do not offer reservations of unborn kids. Reservations can be made verbally once you select your goat (s) on our “For Sale” page. A deposit of half the purchase price is required within 48 hours of committing verbally along with a signed copy of this agreement (click pdf button above and print this document), to hold your goat(s) until pick up. Please contact us before placing a deposit, and let us know if you plan on sending the deposit via mail (certified check/cash) or Venmo. If you chose to send the deposit via mail – get a tracking number to send to us and it will reserve your goat(s) until we receive the deposit. When we have received a deposit on a goat, it will be marked as “Sale Pending”. A goat will not be held, or considered to be reserved, until a deposit has been received. If you want to reserve a goat, you MUST submit a deposit. NO EXCEPTIONS.
Placing a deposit on a goat is a commitment to purchasing it. If you change your mind, and elect not to proceed with your purchase, your deposit will be forfeited to cover the time and cost put in. IF our farm chooses to retain a goat with a deposit in hand, that deposit will be refunded immediately in full or transferred to another available goat.
Tentative arrangements to pick up or transport your goat(s) will be made at time of deposit. Any kid(s) that you reserve will be kept until weaning, approximately 8-12 weeks of age. We will keep you posted of progress during weaning time and encourage you to come visit your kid(s) prior to their weaning. Any goat not picked up by the preset date or weaning will be charged $2 per day boarding fee. Any goat not picked up after 14 days of arranged pick up date will result in all deposits being forfeited and the goat being put back up for sale. A goat is not bought until it is paid in full and leaves Peaceful Views Farm. Payments must be in guaranteed funds: cash, money order, cashiers check, certified check, or Venmo.
We do not ship goats at this time as the cost to ship is close to what they are worth.
Registration:
Kids born from unregisterd stock are unable to be registered. Kids born from registered stock will be able to be registerd, but we reserve the right to sell goats unregistered due to different factors. Wethers will not be registered. Goats deemed to be registered will be registered through ADGA and tattooed with their designated tattoo. Transfer of Registration Certificate fees are to be covered by the purchaser, if purchasing a previously registered goat.
Health:
All kids will be disbudded as soon we see them to be ready. Dams are vaccinated during the last month of pregnancy for CD&T, kids receive their initial CD&T vaccination at 6 weeks of age, and should receive a booster 1 month later, which is intended to provide coverage for one year. Kids will also receive their first hoof trim before pick up date. Since parasite resistance to dewormers is a growing problem, we do not treat our herd on a schedule. Rather, we treat based on symptoms and diagnosis advised by our veterinarian. Each kid will be accompanied by a health record.
Our herd is tested annually for biosecurity screen CAE, CL and Johnes and has always been negative. Kids under 6 months are not able to be tested. Any additional testing may be done prior to sale at the buyer’s expense.
Since we cannot possibly have any control over how a goat is managed once leaving our possession, it will be understood that upon the goat leaving our property, all liabilities and responsibilities for the goat immediately transfers to the buyer. We will not take a goat back, because we cannot be sure that it has not been exposed to diseases while away from our farm.
As the goat represents a potential we cannot/will not guarantee that the purchaser will like their goat once they get it home, how large a goat will become, how much milk a goat will produce, that a goat won’t grow scurs (small horn growths), the future health of the goat, or if the goat will be of show quality, breeding quality, or fertile.
